On Technical Writers

I have found that there are four types of people who get into technical writing:

People who get into it so that they can be self-employed contractors, not because they have aptitude for writing or anything technical;
Officious, self-important busybodies who aren’t competent enough to lord their officious self-importance over people in a meaningful field;
Middle aged, fat women; and,
Slacker English majors who would much rather sell their soul to the man than find real, important, and/or meaningful work.

Guess which category I fall into…
