Good Things

I guess I shouldn’t worry about the annual review when the boss says, "When are you going to fill out your review form so I can give you more money?"

Still, I know exactly what he’s going to say, good and bad, and for some reason that makes the whole notion of it unappealing. We scheduled the review for next week, though, so I can’t put it off, anymore.

I’ve already spent my raise in my head. On:

  • Increasing my contribution to my 401(k); and,
  • Paying off my credit card debt.

Not exactly conspicuous consumption, I know, but I’ve pretty much run out of expensive toys that I can justify spending my money on. I’m also planning on moving south of 10th Street when my lease here expires next year. So…

The working out is starting to pay off. My whole upper body is noticably stronger than it was a month ago. I’ve taken in the belt one notch. Progress.

I’ve instituted a new rule in my life: the computer stays off unless I’m going to use it. It seems like a small thing, but in the last few days it’s cut way down on the amount of time I’ve wasted just sitting in front of the internet, browsing pointlessly. It also has dropped the temperature in my apartment noticably, which was the original idea behind the new rule.

Time to work out.
