I’m spending my Saturday morning/early afternoon in front of my laptop dumping all my reading lists into Google Reader. I had a hard time finding a good reader for Windows. Tried Pluck for a while, but Pluck seriously sucks balls. It just doesn’t work. Google Reader has some pretty nice tricks up its sleeve, though I’m still not sure how I feel about the whole RSS thing, anyway.
I’m doing this in front of my laptop because I’ve got no video on my desktop. My hand-me-down video card died a couple weeks ago. The replacement should show up on Monday or Tuesday. Hate having to drop ~~hard-earned~~ cash on computer parts, though.
I LOVE my new apartment. Sure, there are some shitty parts. The A/C is loud. The walls are thin. Parking is pretty limited (especially when something’s going on at the park or in the Highlands). But it’s nothing I didn’t expect. And the upsides far outweigh the downsides. The big windows, the hardwood floors, the neighborhood. (And that I can get snotty about people invading MY NEIGHBORHOOD when people drive into town for events.) It all just leaves me pretty happy to be living here.
My 27-month experiment in non-TV-owning is over. I bought a fancy new TV a few weeks ago. Mostly so I could watch movies in my living room. (Apparently chicks don’t dig watching movies with you on a 13" laptop.) It’s not connected to anything besides my new DVD player, but I’m thinking about calling up Comcast to get some HDTV action going on. On the other hand, with the way the Braves have been tanking the last three weeks, there’s not much point in the watching of the TV.
