Some bullet points on my trip to New York City over Labor Day:
- Having a phone with unlimited internet and Google Maps really comes in handy. Though, not when you’re on the subway.
- I haven’t had that much pizza since I was in college. Though, the hipster dumbasses next to us at Grimaldi’s were ordering a whole pizza each. (They probably didn’t go out for pizza for lunch the next day, though.)
- It’s hard not to look like a tourist when you’re hanging out with a big Asian guy with an even bigger camera.
- We met the rapper TB who just dropped a phat new joint that you gotta peep. It’s some crazy ill shit.
- No one was selling any real Duracell batteries on the subway. Then again, I didn’t shop the Q train.
- Most people in New York are still assholes.

I think the Duracell guy may have gone back to selling batteries in the psych ward - he disappeared. It’s really a shame.
Thank you for shopping the Q train.

I think probably 70-85% of all batteries sold in NYC are pirated batteries. I don’t know if they last as long, but on the bright side they are really cheap.
I abhor the Q train because it stops at 57th st and unlike the rest of its yellow NRW brethren, does not continue on to my ‘hood. So I never take it. But now that you mention it, I haven’t seen anyone selling batteries for ages.
